A series of black-and-white linocuts interpreting mythological figures from albanian folklore, including witches, fairies, the Ora, and the daughter of the moon and the sun.
Exploring mysticism, myth, and collective memory, these works draw inspiration from folk traditions and cultural history. Through stylized, reduced forms, the figures inhabit a space between the tangible and the intangible, embodying timeless beliefs, inherited fears, and the enduring power of stories passed down through generations. The prints reflect how folklore continues to shape cultural identity, connecting the past with the imagination of the present.
Unity Through Dance
Unity Through Dance explores themes of connection and solidarity through traditional circle dances such as kolo, oro, vallja, and hora. Dancers from different cultures move as one, forming a symbolic circle of unity.
Dance is presented not only as movement, but as a living language that carries stories, customs, and identity across generations. The act of holding hands and moving together transcends boundaries.
The first image depicts a figure with a wool thread, a metaphor for the connections among the peoples of the Balkans.Once part of traditional costume, this thread now weaves together history, identity, and collective memory.
This series pays tribute to what unites us and encourages us to see cultural differences not as obstacles, but as essential threads in a rich, inclusive tapestry that we continue to create together.
